For many years, the Newsboys have been physically and spiritually helping to change the lives of countless people in Baja, Mexico through Global Expeditions’ Homes4Baja projects. You don't need to be an architect or construction worker to join the Newsboys on this adventure. If you can swing a hammer or hold a paintbrush, then you can help share God's love with a needy family by building them a home with the Newsboys. You will also have the opportunity to reach out to the surrounding community and impact the lives of children and families with service projects and programs. Visit them at www.homes4baja.com.
Back in 2008, Martin Smith, and his wife Anna, founded CompassionArt, a charity dedicated to seeing works of art generate income for the poorest of the poor. In fact, Martin gathered some of his close friends to record an album that is completely dedicated to this cause. Michael W. Smith, Darlene Zschech, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Paul Baloche, Israel Houghton, Graham Kendrick, Steven Curtis-Chapman, Andy Park, and (Delirious? bandmate) Stu Garrard, came together and recorded a 15-track CD that 100% of sales go to charities around the world. No one involved made a cent from any aspect of this recording. CompassionArt works to break extreme poverty around the world. They support local – and national - projects that meet the needs of those whose lives are at risk because of their poverty. Visit them at www.compassionart.tv. You can also check out this video.
Nicole C. Mullen explains, “The whole premise behind Baby Girls Club is to develop leadership qualities and teach the girls how to use their talents. We use the arts to empower, whether it’s through singing, dancing, playing an instrument, song writing, clothing design, even computer work and homework. In general, we want them to learn life skills and to see the world beyond their own horizons.” She goes on to say that, “This is a place to share, resolve conflicts, practice listening and leading. At the end of the day, we are challenging these girls to step up to the plate and be difference makers.” Visit them at www.babygirlsclub.com.
