Secret Anthem Terms, Conditions, and Policies

Although this may seem like a lot of legal mumbo-jumbo, please read it.  We want to make this journey is as easy as possible.  We’ve included a few bi-lines to get you through it all.

What you are submitting is final.  No amendments, changes, will be accepted unless another submission is made.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure that what you are submitting is what you want to be reviewed and what we base our counsel on.  Correct spelling is not 100% necessary, but a lot of errors can make it distracting.

Secret Anthem, and its partnering artists and producers, will not sell or share your private contact information, or payment information, with outside parties.

Your information is safe with us, and we will not give out your information to anyone.

You, the song submitter, acknowledge that you are the primary songwriter, and have accredited all contributing parties to this review process.  Secret Anthem, and its partnering artists and producers, will not be held responsible for any and all parties excluded from the submission process due to the lack of acknowledgment from the primary submitter, and are not held legally responsible for any and all financial activities and penalties resulting in this process.

As you submit the song, please remember to give credit to those who helped you write the song.  If you forget, or neglect, to do so, Secret Anthem will not be held responsible in any way.

By submitting a song to this process, you, the song submitter (and all parties acknowledged in the submission process), agree that your song submission will be reviewed, counseled, and critiqued by Secret Anthem and its partnering artists and producers.

You understand that this is a song review service, also referred to as a song critiquing service.  We all have our opinion, and you are agreeing that Secret Anthem and its partnering artists and producers will share ours with you.

You, the song submitter (and all parties acknowledged in the submission process), acknowledge and agree that positive reviews, comments, and counsel does not constitute endorsements from Secret Anthem or its partnering artists and producers.  In addition, the song submitter may not publish such feedback in any way insinuating that an endorsement, recommendation, or seal-of-approval has been made by Secret Anthem or its partnering artists and producers.

You will not use the comments provided by Secret Anthem or its partnering artists and producers to promote your name, brand, or music in any way.

You, the song submitter (and all parties acknowledged in the submission process), acknowledge and agree that Secret Anthem or its partnering artists and producers, will not be slandered, spoken negatively, or be publicly verbally harmed by your comments in the event that reviews, comments, and counsel perceived as negative are a result of your song submission.  In addition, the song submitter may not publish such feedback in any way slandering, a speaking badly about, or harming the public image of Secret Anthem or its partnering artists and producers.

You will not use any negative comments in a public forum to describe your interaction with Secret Anthem or its partnering artists and producers in relation to your song submission.

You, the song submitter (and all parties acknowledged in the submission process), understand that all reviews will be completed by Secret Anthem, and its partnering artists and producers, with the understanding that it is intended to be constructive criticism, and assist the song submitter(s) in their personal creative process.  In addition, Secret Anthem is not held responsible for verbiage used by the individual parties reviewing the song submission.

We trust our partnering artists and producers with the skill and ability to give you the best counsel for your submission.  Sometimes their words might sting a little because we all believe our songs are the best.  Rest assured, they use their words to help you become a better songwriter.  If you don’t like those words, you can’t sue us.

You, the song submitter (and all parties acknowledged in the submission process), understand that Secret Anthem, and our partnering artists and producers, work with a creative team, and all submissions are subject to undergo the same process.

“No man is an island” is a very true saying for each of our partnering artists and producers.  Each of them work closely with a great team of people who help them choose and write their songs.  So, instead of just getting one person listening to your song, you could have a group of people.  (This is a good thing!)

Not all works submitted will be immediately considered “publishable”.  Secret Anthem, and our partnering artists and producers, reserve the right to “sign off” on if the song submission is publishable after up to 2-3 reviews prior to the song being published.  This includes the possibility of songs being resubmitted up to 2 additional times before a song submission may be selected to be published

Because we want you to get the most out of what we are doing for you, we will not publish every song as it comes in.  We want to make sure that it is the best it can be so it can reach its maximum potential.  We will let you know if it is ready to be published through our partners, and if it isn’t we’ll let you know what needs to be done.

If a song is ready to be published, Secret Anthem, and our partnering artists and producers, will require no additional fees from the song submitter.  Secret Anthem will facilitate all publishing correspondence and queries.  All publishing administration will be facilitated through EMACK Publishing.  The following publishing royalties will apply – 47% of royalties will be paid to the songwriter/songwriting team. 50% will be allocated to EMACK Publishing and 3% will be allocated to Secret Anthem, accordingly.

If our partnering artists and producers believe your song is ready to be published, you won’t have to pay anything else to get it published.  The allocation of royalties are pretty standard, and are in place so everyone benefits is protected.

Secret Anthem, and our partnering artists and producers, agree to make every effort to contact the submitter if their song submission is selected to be published and/or recorded.  In the event that they are not reachable, all correspondence, and the royalties (if any) will be sent to the address on file.  It is not the responsibility of Secret Anthem, or its partners, to maintain or update the song submitter’s account information.

Please make sure that your account information is up-to-date and accurate!  We’d hate to see your hard work get hindered by a wrong number or email address.

In the event that your song submission is selected to be recorded, Secret Anthem will provide the song submitter (and up to 2 additional parties acknowledged as contributors in the song submission) with a 3-day, 2-night trip to meet with the artist and recording team (accommodations and airfare).  In the event that the submitter(s) is/are (a) minor(s), the submitter must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  This parent or legal guardian will be included in the travel arrangements, not in addition.  Secret Anthem and its partners reserve the right to limit the number of people traveling with the submitter for their time spent with the artist and recording team.

Basically, three people will be accommodated.  If you are a minor (younger than 18 years old), at least one parent or legal guardian must be one of those three.  Everyone traveling must be either a parent or legal guardian, or a contributor to the song.  We are happy to offer this to people who get this opportunity, but cannot extend it to your appliance repair specialist who is a “huge fan”.  Maybe you can bring back an autograph or something…

Secret Anthem, and our partnering artists and producers, are not liable for usage of similar song titles, sequence of lyrics, melodies, etc. to the song submission. Secret Anthem will make every effort to ensure that infringement of the submitter’s song will not take place by us, or our partnering artists and producers.

Our partnering artists and producers won’t steal your ideas.  They may have already had them.

The initial song review process may take up to 60 days to receive a response.  However,  in the event that the mentor that you request is in the studio, on tour, or obligated to previous arrangements, it may take up to 90 days.  Secret Anthem will make every effort to have a response to your submission within the 60-day period.

Our partnering artists and producers are busy with tours, recordings, family, and other projects, so it may take some time to get your review completed.  In most cases, it will be done well before 60 days, but may take up to 90 days.

All payments must be paid in full, and provided that Secret Anthem upholds the process of its services, are non-refundable. Our intent is to provide a service that is of exceptional value to our customers.  In the event that we have not upheld our commitment to you, and provide the services that we promised within maximum of 90 days, we will be happy to provide a 100% refund.

We are committed to keeping our word to you, and will hold ourselves responsible if we fail at that commitment.
